(no subject)

Scenario 1

[Look it's pre-heavensward and you are the WOL and you are totally hanging out at the Falling Snows and your boy Haurchefant is SO EXCITED he's left you for a minute to relax and is returning with HOT COCOA because YOU NEED TO WARM UP. After all, you're always met with a warm hearth and warmer welcome at Camp Dragonhead.]

Scenario 2

[What the fuck there's a dragon trying to eat your face and suddenly this long-necked giraffe guy in armor is leaping to your defense to fight the thing off. What a meeting.]

[Ring-covered hands swept over Madhuri's sleeves as one more shiver entered the head and moved down to the tip of a spiny black tail. Having spent the better part of her adolescence in the temperate forests of Gridania, Coerthas was another story. She'd never understood when they said 'chilled to the bone', but she felt as if she'd never warm. Bards never quite dressed for warmth, but... duty calls, doesn't it?

Duty calls.

Her feathered cap was placed upon the table, further shrinking the auri woman's already-petite form. The snow collected in the fibers had long melted, leaving the poor garment heavy and in need of a fire to toast it back into its usual dry warmth. Tipping her head, her fingers smoothed deep purple hair back into place- a girl couldn't have hat hair!

But it was in this act that a warm, familiar face decided to arrive with two mugs of piping hot chocolate. Feeling her face burn, she quickly composed herself and folded her hands tightly in her lap.]

O-oh! Oh, my... you're too kind. Thank you, friend.

[Bed. She wanted nothing more than the biggest bed with the warmest comforters and a warm body to keep her company. Though she was fairly certain she could ask no such thing in the here and now, it was a nice thought indeed.

Instead, she accepted her mug and gave the surface a gentle puff of breath before she had her first drink. It won't be long before she'll finally feel that warmth in her core, and with a little luck it may finally spread out to her extremities.

Coyly, she canted her head in thought, masking the minute stiffness in her shoulders. Everything was amiss. But it wouldn't do to be truthful.]

A chill is all; I can't accurately say how long it's been since I've traveled this far north.

[She smiled up at him.]

I wouldn't make a very good ice sculpture.

[She shook her head.] You've already done so much for me. I'll warm in time, hastened thanks to the drink.

[It's a question she's heard plenty. If something was amiss, or if there's anything they can do to help. Normally she would insist that all is well and there was no need of any of it, but perhaps the cold was getting to her. She wasn't sure.

But they were friends, weren't they?]

But I should apologize for arriving unannounced. I needed a friendly face.

[The smile tightened, embarrassed.]

Is it strange to feel lonesome, despite being surrounded by so many...?
